HMRC SET SERVICETrustis is pleased to confirm that it can provide digital certificates for use with the HMRC SET Service. The digital certificates have to be produced to defined standards and you will require two of them: one will be used for digital signing and one for encryption. The time to process your request and issue certificates is largely dependent upon how quickly your organisation can process the relevant information. The certificates will be issued to standards specified by HMG (Government Authentication Framework level 2) and if you wish to order certificates, we will require you to complete the attached form and fax this back to us on +44 (0) 1635 231 366 together with a valid purchase order as outlined below. Thereafter, we are required to conduct a number of checks on the validity of your request, including your organisation and the certificate applicant. Please note that it is very important that the signature on the bottom of the fax form is someone other than the nominated recipient and someone who is authorised by your organisation to sign on its behalf. HMRC specifies the details of your encrypted interaction with them and you should ensure your applications and procedures for generating key pairs and protecting private keys comply fully with their requirements, this information is provided directly from HMRC in their HMRC SET information pack. In particular, you should comply with the construction of the distinguished name associated with your certificates as specified by HMRC. Please note that the key pair within each CSR must be 2048 bit RSA. In addition to the fax and purchase order you should also send your certificate signing request files, CSRs (in PEM format) to support@trustis.com quoting your purchase order number. We recommend that you email the CSRs to support@trustis.com before you go to the trouble of generating the fax and having it authorised. This will enable Trustis to confirm that the CSRs are correctly formatted first. We will inspect your requests prior to issue of your certificates.
